The title of the new series of a + t magazine questions what we have known so far as rural context, the limits of which are increasingly diffuse. This first issue identifies pieces of very different scales which aim to provide architecture for those who inhabit the countryside, both human and non-human.

Her Hair
Regular price SFr. 21.00 Save SFr. -21.00Onomatopee Z0016, Claudia Pagès, 2020
Claudia Pagès’ writing emerges from the agora and the marketplace, where language is passed back and forth alongside coins and vegetables, jokes and greetings swapped like counterfeit underwear and bags of pork gelatine. Her writing explores how, around the daily exchange of daily goods, a people and culture form and define themselves. Between the cities of Barcelona and London she searches for an example of this personal, bodily commerce—a swatch of discarded human or synthetic hair, lost or abandoned back to the street. From this point, Pagès seeks more encounters with the industry and ideology of human hair.
Her Hair is a poetic catalogue of those experiences, as Pagès begins a personal exploration of the production and exchange of both hair and language, braided together through process of creation and exploitation. In doing so she produces something between text and textile, as her language grows, is cropped, is unruly, is epilated and is shorn through contact with hair and its discontents.

Vein – Issue 14

Increasingly, and at a faster pace, nature becomes culture and as this occurs, so continues the construction of an increasingly artificial and imaginary paradise lost.
The paradises of today are those public spaces where multiple spiritual postures fit, where each one is built while experiencing them.
Javier Mozas traces a walk in search of paradise, through 5 historical models, starting in the 17th Century and ends at the beginning of the 20th Century.
Aurora Fernández Per identifies and analyses within the selected works design strategies and actions with which to create accessible paradises for the citizen.
The STRATEGY series, initiated in 2010, defines scalar scopes, evidences disciplinary origins and composes a grid that overlaps the project to offer a new vision of it.
